Dutch duo Artefakt unleash “Orinoco Basin” taken from their forthcoming seven-track LP “Days Bygone”, out on Delsin Records on 10th May.
Renowned for their pensive, deep textures and long track lengths, Artefakt often produce music that is packed with balanced atmospheres that absorb and engage. Following up from their acclaimed “Icarus” release early last year, the pair demonstrate there is still space for beats on “Days Bygone” with the latest single showcasing fluttering formations that gently buffet languid keys rather than imposing on the direction of the music.
If their 2017 debut album “Kinship” married forthright techno dynamics with a mellow, melancholic sensibility and 2019’s Monsoon saw them heading into deeper, meditative rhythms, then “Days Bygone” finds Artfekat leaning even further away from standard structures to create an album steeped in mystery.
“Orinoco Basin” is available to listen and “Days Bygone” is available to pre-order on Bandcamp.
