Philly-born, NYC-bred and Berlin-based DJ, producer and performer LSDXOXO releases his much-anticipated EP “Dedicated 2 Disrespect” on esteemed label XL Recordings.
An illustrious portrait of the intersections between rave, techno, house, gender, sexuality, camp and race, Dedicated 2 Disrespect is a project that oscillates between the politics and the party so effortlessly bold and unapologetic. Following previous singles “Sick Bitch” and “The Devil”, the electronic superstar now showcases sleek new visuals to the EP’s closing track “Mutant Exotic”.
Speaking on the track, LSDXOXO states: “Society tends to treat queerness as a threat, so ‘Mutant Exotic’ gaily touches on that narrative.”
“Mutant Exotic” defines the duality explored on LSDXOXO’s latest project. While it’s clearly poking fun on people’s perceptions of queerness, that still cannot be divorced from the material challenges queer communities face, and more specifically queer Black communities.
Also announced this week; LSDXOXO will return to the party tonight, May 14th with a special Floorgasm event in collaboration with Club Quarantine.
