TRESOR share new single and visuals for AFRODEUTSCHE’s contribution to ‘TRESOR 30’

Berlin club/label TRESOR shares new single & music video for AFRODEUTSCHE‘s contribution to the TRESOR 30 compilation as part of their celebration of 30 years of music culture. Video by Demdike Stare A/V collaborator and filmmaker Michael England.

AFRODEUTSCHE (Henrietta Smith-Rolla), is a British-born Ghanaian/Russian/German artist, composer, producer, and DJ based in Manchester. Her polyrhythmic compositions integrate a wide array of musical genres, including Afrofuturistic electro and techno, classical solo piano, and Detroit legacy house; all memorable journeys into deep, abstracted sound.

A mysterious and transportive track, like a modern update to the Logan’s Run soundtrack, the track conjures visions of a late-night train ride around a futuristic megacity; beautiful and awe-inspiring. This is enhanced with a slight undertone of danger and unease as the string parts are manipulated to sound like a record or tape being slowed slightly.

Bringing together 52 essential tracks from artists across six continents– both classics and exclusive commissions – each of the 12 records in TRESOR 30 is an historical document that maps the flight path of techno from those original artists that defined this then-new music to those across the globe who continue to traverse its landscape.

‘TRESOR 30′ is out October 1st and is available for pre-order on Bandcamp.
