Unsound Festival announce new artists including TYGAPAW, Bbymutha and The Bug

Kraków-based festival Unsound have announced the main line-up for its forthcoming edition set to take place from 13th to 17th October.

The likes of TYGAPAW, Bbymutha and Drain Gang co-founder Ecco2k have all been added to this years addition alongside Flora Yin-Wong, Bendik Giske, Scotch Rolex MC Yallah, object blue and TSVI. Juliana Huxtable and Zlúr will collaborate with visual artist Theresa Baumgartner once again as part of their Off License project. MMM, aka Errorsmith and Fiedel, will debut a new show at the event.

Club music comes from a premiere b2b between Polish techno star VTSS and Toronto-based CHIPPY NONSTOP, TYGAPAW, TSVI b2b object blue following their EP on Nervous Horizons; Naphta’s collision of Polish folk textures and club music, a live show from Krakow’s very own Charlie and a DJ set from Young Majli, as well as DIS FIG alongside an appearance with The Bug. More names will be added to the late night music programme.

This year’s theme will be around the idea of ‘dəəp authentic’, their response to a hyperreal situation and refers to the gradual shift back from online to IRL events, a phrase that involves a questionable binary. It will “consider methods of twisting, upending or even breaking the presentation of live music and sound that radicalise or bring a different kind of energy into performance spaces that have already been altered by the pandemic.”

Another line-up announcement is scheduled to take place later this month, with Unsound sharing the full discourse schedule and final additions to the music programme.

Unsound 2021 is between13 to 17 October in Kraków, Poland and tickets to all events are now on sale via the festival’s website.
