SODAA announce an event at London venue IKLECTIK, featuring talks from Emma Warren and Rebecca Salvadori.
Following their 12-hour Netil Radio takeover in January, SODAA takes over IKLECTIK on 27th February for a series of talks and an open decks session as part of their SODAA Mixer events, where collective members, invited speakers, and more meet up to listen, chat, and perform.
The talk, moderated by Anjali Prashar-Savoie, will focus on grassroots movements and spaces, online lore and good practices to document subcultures and rituals of nightlife.
Emma Warren is an author, journalist, and broadcaster who documents grassroots music and culture. She is the author of ‘Make Some Space: Tuning Into Total Refreshment Centre’ which she wrote and published on her own Sweet Machine imprint in 2019 and hosts a regular show on Worldwide FM.
Rebecca Salvadori is a London-based artist working at the intersection between video art and documentary. She is the author of ‘Rave Trilogy’, a series of film works dedicated to electronic music, and was Artistic Director of the Norient Film Festival in Bern, Switzerland in 2022.
SODAA is a Self Organised, Decentralised Association of Artists, musicians, DJs, producers, coders, promoters, and more. Operating in London and worldwide via their Discord server, they are a not-for-profit organisation working to design a new model for a community-operated music and arts venue in London.
The event is 7pm-11pm on February 27th, and you can purchase tickets here.
