London-based artist Saint Jude returns with brand new offering via Slow Dance Records and announces first ever live show at Village Underground.
The acclaimed artist serves up a brand new single combining his brand of opaque, visceral storytelling with lo-fi garage percussion. The track was first conceived in Jude Woodword’s notes app whilst listening to garage and early jungle when walking South London’s quiet streets during lockdown.
Speaking on the single, Jude states: “The message in ‘No Angels’ is about more than lockdown specifically. Community and solidarity is the most important thing, and will always be in conflict with the forces of capital and money.”
Blessed with an receptive inquisitiveness towards music, and navigating an artistic ambition which stretches beyond genre tags, Saint Jude builds bridges between many of the UK’s integral scenes: with electronica, punk, hip-hop and observational songwriting leaving fingerprints on his output.
Saint Jude’s first ever live show will take place as part of Village Underground’s 15th birthday celebrations on 2nd September 2022. Tickets are available here.
