Brian Nasty unveils official video for “Time I Leave”

London-based rapper, producer, model, illustrator, photographer, skater and amateur chess player Brian Nasty announces a brand new video for recent single “Time I Leave”.

Directed by Ethan & Tom (Flohio, Jeshi, Wu-Lu, North Face), the new video features Brian against a series of dark and dreary London backdrops, interspersed with flashes of a scene that hint to something darker.

Speaking on the track, Brian states: “‘Time I Leave’ is definitely one of my favourite tracks and I love it for the intensity that it brings. I wrote that song about the anxiety that washes over you when your train of thought starts getting louder in your head.”

Speaking of the video, he continues, “I wanted the video to match that intensity and the darkness of the video creates more of that uneasy feeling. Ethan and Tom the directors really came through and managed to create a feel that conveys how the song is supposed to make you feel. You don’t quite understand what’s going on but you manage to find a second to take a breath.”

The track is taken from Brian’s new EP ‘Growing Pains’, released earlier this year on Big Dada. Across its five-tracks, the EP features contributions from Goya Gumbani, Klien, Natanya, Joviale and Jkarri, taking in various elements of Highlife, classic Soul, Blues, Rock, Indie, Electronic and more, all filtered through Brian’s unique prism of production and storytelling.

The EP cover art — created by Brian himself — features a collection of family portraits, an acknowledgment of the important role they have played, and will continue to play in his journey. The artwork, alongside additional portraits of Brian’s friends and family were displayed at a special exhibition at London’s Bankrupt Store on 28th July.
