Levi’s And ERL Collide For Debut Collection

Iconic denim brand Levi’s join forces with Eli Russell Linnetz’s ERL for a Californian-inspired collection.

Founded in 2020, ERL has quickly become renowned for its playful and retro designs, blending the pop art aesthetics with skate wear and surf culture.

The new collection incorporates ERL’s Californian influences to Levi’s trademark silhouettes, specifically the classic 501 jeans. Slit cuts are added to the sides of the legs for the Levi’s x ERL 501 light wash jean, while a frayed waistband is incorporated to the loose fitting ones. The Low Rise Flare has a superflare beginning at the knees, while the collaborative shorts are oversized board shorts, a nod to the Venice Beach look while the Mini Skirt is a cut pair of washed out indigo 5-pocket jeans.

The collection also features a sherpa trucker (short and duster-length), fitted denim top, slightly heavyweight overshirt, denim dress — all stamped with that familiar neon-colored ERL embroidery as seen in the initial teaser.

In a press release, Linnetz states: “Our Levi’s x ERL collection has a very grunge, casual, and skater energy. It’s easy to throw on for everyday wear but it’s still identifiable with a clear voice and signature.”

ERL x Levi’s is scheduled to release on September 6 on Levi’s website and select physical locations as well Dover Street Market.
