One of London’s hottest rappers right now, Lord Apex, continues momentum towards his studio album The Good Fight with brand new single “Phoenix” featuring US heavyweight Freddie Gibbs.

AP’s latest offering “Phoenix” points towards a new chapter, with an upbeat, yet mellow, soundtrack produced by Argov providing a soulful platform for AP to deliver his trademark flow alongside one of America’s most coveted rappers right now in Freddie Gibbs. With a steamy edginess, “Phoenix” showcases a fresh kind of sound and vibe that’s set to guide the new soundscape of AP’s forthcoming body of work as he drops baggage from the past and continues his rise into the very upper echelons of the rap game.

Speaking on the new track, AP states: “The inspiration behind making “Phoenix” was just because I felt I was rising out of the ashes of a volcano, I was going through so much while finishing the album.”

A true creative, Apex masterminds the entire spectrum of his artistic output, from the curation of his producers, to vocals, to art direction. Having blazed one of the most vibrant, charismatic paths since his breakthrough projects Bamboo Forest and Interplanetary Funk, Apex finds himself sharing the stage with some of America’s finest rap talent, including tours with heavyweights Freddie Gibbs and Action Bronson last year.
