British fashion brand Burberry has teamed up with global resale platform Vestiaire Collective allowing customers to trade in pre-loved pieces.
The new partnership means customers are able to trade in their secondhand Burberry outwear and handbags in exchange for a Burberry gift card which can be reinvested in the brand in an attempt to promote resale and reduce garment waste.
Essentially, Vestiaire Collective will offer customers a price for their pre-loved item, and once accepted, the item will be shipped to the HQ to be authenticated and passed through quality control. The seller will then receive their gift card to redeem at any Burberry boutique. The pieces traded in will then be available to purchase worldwide.
Speaking on the partnership, co-founder of Vestiaire Collective, Fanny Moizant states: “This new partnership with Burberry celebrates longevity and represents a step forward towards circularity. It is Vestiaire Collective’s mission to support brands to promote resale and offer more responsible alternatives to their community to buy less but buy better.”
The Burberry x Vestiaire Collective is available now in the UK and US only. Click here for the website.
