
The British Fashion Council (BFC) have announced the nominees for the Designer of the Year and BFC Foundation Awards at The Fashion Awards 2023 presented by Pandora (TFA).
Earlier this year the BFC announced the initial nominees for the 2023 Fashion Awards, including Model of the Year, British Menswear Designer, British Womenswear Designer, New Establishment Menswear, and New Establishment Womenswear. Now, the BFC has shared ten candidates for Designer of the Year and BFC Foundation.
The ‘Designer of the Year’ award recognises a British or international designer whose innovative collections have made a notable impact on the industry, defining the shape of global fashion. This years nominees include Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson and LOEWE, Matthieu Blazy for Bottega Veneta, Daniel Lee for Burberry, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada and Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
The ‘BFC Foundation’ award recognises a BFC Foundation initiative designer who has had a major impact on global fashion over the past year. In honour of the 30th year of BFC NEWGEN, the shortlist, which was voted on by the Voting Committee, is focused on the BFC NEWGEN initiative and includes AARON ESH, Chet Lo, Connor Ives, Paolo Carzana, and Sinéad O’Dwyer.
This years Fashion Awards takes place at the Royal Albert Hall on December 4, 2023. Tickets are available now via the Fashion Awards website.
