In a recent London clubbing boom, fresh-faced club night, Atrium, is quickly coming out on top. Following a sold-out debut event at Venue MOT earlier this summer — featuring an eclectic line-up of London-based selector in the form of Syz and West Norwood Cassette Library — the crew return to South Bermondsey’s industrial settings for what is set to be another pulsating night under the lights. Heading the bill this time are dance music staples Buttechno and Charles Green, who take the reins this Saturday ( November 25th) alongside support from proliferate local names such as Kim Roman, DJ Simulate and elliot.
Ahead of the next hotly-anticipated Atrium night, Charles Green digs through the different genres and selects some tunes to get you in the mood. For well over a decade the multi-faceted London selector and producer has been building his reputation as one of the most respected names in the capital, with his personal cuts landing on coveted imprints such as Hardgroove, Freerotation and Revenge Techniques, to name a few.

Pangaea – Hex [Hemlock Recordings]
Been returning to this one a lot recently, it’s an excellent crossover track which you can bridge many gaps with. Segway central. What somehow seems like vintage Pangaea now is aging very well indeed.
House
Ty Brunson – All Of Me (Instrumental) [Nott-Us Recordings]
It’s New York house at it’s very best. Every few years I return to this record just to appreciate that classic Kaoz sound. The groovin’ organ bassline, top lines and that 909 – sometimes you just can’t beat it.
Jungle
Tim Reaper & Dwarde – Groovin’ [Creative Wax Recordings]
Another beauty from Tim Reaper & Dwarde here. This one sums up everything beautiful about Jungle music, nothing too overly complex just rolls itself out and plenty of atmosphere, just how we like it.
UK Garage
Andy Ward & Ryan Ward – Jazzfly (Soundsystem Relick) [Humal Records]
I’ve been enjoying this one a lot recently, it’s somewhere in between bumpy UK Garage and House music – that sacred crossover which you can only really attribute to the 90s
UK Techno
Gideon Jackson – Touch Me [Conceieve Records]
Something like Croydon via Detroit here. Tech House? Techno? House? Both I guess… I have nothing else to say about this guy than he’s one of my favourite producers ever.
