BAPE commemorate a second year at the *A Bathing Ape® flagship store in Mayfair with a seven piece London-centric capsule.
The new collection, comprised of the brand’s most iconic modern pieces, sees red, white and blue splashed across items such as the SK8 STA, College Tee, Big Ape Head Tee and Shark Full Zip Double Hoodie, adding a dose of the capital’s flair to BAPE’s best selling silhouettes of 2023.
Reintroduced in 2021 under the SK8 STA tagline, this skater-cued lifestyle trainer has received some tastefully aligned inline colourways, but for this occasion a cows leather upper meets TPU accents in Union Jack-coloured camouflage. The College and Big Ape Head tees adopt the same palette – paying tribute to the anniversary’s numerics at the collar’s rear as a continuation of the front-facing graphic. Completing the capsule is the Shark Full Zip Double Hoodie in two colourways – both sporting a tonal under-hood before working a second brightly camo-clad shark on top.
Despite BAPE being firmly entrenched in London’s streetwear scene, the four-storey flagship store, located in Mayfair, is still relatively fresh-faced. To celebrate the two years, BAPE took to the backstreets with leading UK rapper Unknown T, posing in a phone booth, taxi and bus stop, whilst draped in signature BAPE Camo.
