ASICS SportStyle And Kiko Kostadinov Launch GEL-FLAMMAE

ASICS SportStyle and Kiko Kostadinov have come together for new shoe, the GEL-FLAMMAE, referencing archive net-burner styles.

The hybrid design mainly references the GEL-Wahine™ II and the GEL-NETBURNER™ IGS II elongating the ASICS stripes and lacing track. The upper sits upon a classic tooling model for the brand – the GEL-KIRIL™. A floral traction pattern is revealed on the rubber toecap highlighting the advanced tooling. The FLYTEFOAM™️ PROPEL cushioning gestures towards a new level of aero dynamism. Present in pearlescent qualities, ASICS’ GEL cushioning is placed tactically within the midsole, aiding with the dispersion of force on impact, while the AHARPLUS™️ heel plug aids durability for long term use. The silhouette is offered in two colourways; gunmetal and mako blue.

A fondness and nostalgia for team sports played around the net sees Kiko’s designers Laura and Deanna Fanning travel abroad to their country of origin, Australia to document the shoe among a varied and esteemed cast of netballers with renowned British photographer Rosie Marks (b. London, 1993). Marks’ documents netball’s breadth and enthusiasm thousands of kilometres from the origin of the sport.

The GEL-FLAMMAE’s will release on Friday, July 19th globally and will be available via ASICS SportStyle website.
