Story mfg. teams up with outdoors brand ROA for its unique take on ROA’s Katharina Shoe, the first of the collaborations promised by Story mfg.’s SS25 fashion show.
The Brighton-based brand has unveiled its take on ROA’s Katharina Shoe, providing a hand-loomed cotton fabric made with a naturally dyed indigo yarn for the upper of the shoe which contrasts the rubberised protective material on the base of the shoe. The shoe also comes alongside a collaborative vest crafted with 100% cotton handloom fabric and handwoven with GOTs yarn dyed in India.
The official storyline from Story mfg. is that the statement making pattern is inspired by one used in rural farmers in both France and Japan, as well as being in keeping with the brand’s eco-conscious beliefs made from organic cotton and 100% natural fibres. The shoe also arrive in a special box with recycled paper straw padding alongside a poem card by Lebanese-American writer and poet, Khalil Gibran.
Presented through the lens of London–based photographer Hollie Fernando, the campaign of this joint venture takes set in Mohamed Hamid’s Star Pottery in Lewes, East Sussex, where he has led pottery workshops for over thirty years.
The shoes release Thursday 8th August at 5PM BST via the official Story mfg. website.
