Runway: AVAVAV SS25

AVAVAV has built up a reputation over the years for bringing a unique sense of humour to the runway, with past shows featuring models who dramatically collapsed halfway through, wearing fits which completely fell apart and, more recently, the front-row throwing rubbish at its designs in realtime. For its SS25 collection debut, the brand took to the running track with models running, power walking and even tripping down the strip.

Creative director Beate Karlsson welcomed guests to Milan’s Forza e Coraggio sports arena for a collection which blended high fashion with sporty elements, and fittingly, collaborations with sports giant adidas. The label’s iconic four-finger footwear received an adidas makeover, adding the legendary Three Stripes to the Leather Finger Boots. Elsewhere, pieces like cropped track jackets, exaggerated puffer jackets and track pants also got a little help from adidas, featuring the Three Stripes.

On the adidas collaboration, Karlsson stated: “It’s pretty wild that we can paint on a garment, and everyone immediately recognizes it as adidas. That’s something you can only achieve as a global player like them. From the beginning of our partnership, I was encouraged to ‘make fun’ of adidas. There’s so much irony in how seriously we take both sports and fashion, and exploring that while maintaining a serious attitude has been incredibly fun.”
