Simone Rocha’s latest FW25 collection successfully reimagines childhood nostalgia through a blend of whimsical motifs and fashion-forward designs. Drawing inspiration from the timeless tale of “The Tortoise & The Hare,” Rocha’s show brought playful, decontextualised elements of youth to the runway.
Signature childhood references were reinterpreted throughout the collection, with bike shed locks repurposed as belts, and hares featured in everything from stuffed animal accessories to intricate beadwork on varsity polos. Key pieces reworked Rocha’s past hits, including a ribbon top paired with faux fur micro shorts and paper bag dresses cinched with bike locks. Iconic egg bags were revamped into pearly tortoises, further nodding to the classic fable.
The collection merged youthful playfulness with a mature, nostalgic twist. Floral patterns, bloomers, and ribbon-laced sneakers added a youthful vibe, while faux fur stoles and bandeaus introduced an old Hollywood touch to tweeds and gowns. Timeless model Alexa Chung showcased a leather jacket and faux fur ensemble, paired with a slit skirt and belted handbag, adding a chic edge to the looks.
