In Photos: Bakey’s ‘4 Fridays At Phonox’ Final Night

Bakey continues to champion the pulse of the UK underground. Hailing from Leeds, the rising producer and DJ has steadily built a reputation for crafting high-octane club music that fuses 2-step rhythms, breaks, grime grit and dubstep weight—all underpinned by an instinctive feel for the dancefloor. Since breaking through with releases on tastemaker labels such as Time Is Now, Bakey has emerged as a key architect of the new-gen UKG revival, bridging the legacy of pirate radio with Gen Z’s boundary-pushing spirit. His sets, like his productions, are genre-fluid, fast-paced and deeply rooted in rave culture.

Earlier this year, Bakey unveiled his acclaimed debut EP BACKROOMS—a moody, minimalist exploration of early dubstep influences inspired by pioneers such as Burial, El-B, and Horsepower Productions. To mark the release, he launched a sold-out, four-week residency at London’s Phonox, lighting up every Friday in April with curated lineups that celebrated the scene’s raw energy and creative depth. Across the month, Bakey invited a stacked roster of collaborators and guests including Reeko, Champion, Breaka, Miley Serious, SGT Pokes, Dismantle, Zed Bias and Shadev. We caught the final night which saw explosive sets from Bakey himself alongside Sully, Sabrina, Felixcw and VXRGO.
