Los Angeles label ERL has released its latest Pre-Fall 2025 collection, “The Wild Bunch”, marking a significant first: a creative collaboration with 1970s queer icon Peter Berlin.
Known for his provocative self-portraiture and pioneering presence in queer visual culture, Berlin’s influence anchors the collection’s aesthetic direction. Blending Berlin’s bold visual legacy with ERL’s cinematic, youth-driven vision, the collection explores themes of rebellion, identity and subcultural masculinity. Key pieces include deconstructed leather jackets, distressed moto tees, and mesh undershirts, many of which incorporate Berlin’s iconic imagery. One standout—a charcoal muscle tank—features a collage of his signature self-portraits, blurring the line between fashion and erotic art.
Drawing inspiration from queer visual traditions, including echoes of Tom of Finland, the collection leans into both sensuality and subversion. Staying true to its roots, ERL emphasises local craftsmanship with California-sourced denim and hand-knit varsity cardigans made from domestically spun wool.
