TELFAR is marking its 20th anniversary with the debut of an experimental reality series, New Models, premiering 18th June.
Described as part game show, part casting call, the series invites viewers to decide who walks the runway, shifting the power dynamic of traditional modeling. “What is a model? Who gets to be seen — and who gets to decide?” TELFAR asks in a statement.
Hosted on a dedicated TELFAR TV microsite, New Models will feature live chats, timed voting, and interactive features, positioning the audience as the ultimate casting director.
According to press notes: “The hour-long special follows a cast of contestants through challenges, performance, radical self-expression, culminating in a live vote during the broadcast.”
“New Models isn’t just casting and moving beyond fashion. It’s the next chapter in the evolution of TELFAR TV – the brand’s self-owned public access, media platform, launched in 2021 as a live, unscripted response to censorship, visibility and community broadcasting.”
