Marni Taps Slawn And SOLDIER For Fall/Winter 2025 Vol. 1 Collection

Marni’s Fall/Winter 2025 Vol. 1 collection redefines collaboration as a core design philosophy, uniting the creative visions of Olaolu Slawn, Soldier Boyfriend, and Creative Director Francesco Risso.

Developed during a residency in an East London studio, the project blends personal narratives, cultural identity, and experimental art into a singular fashion statement. The trio drew on their distinct backgrounds to craft a visual language rooted in symbolism and surrealism. Mythical creatures, satyrs, and folkloric figures became central motifs, representing themes of freedom, constraint, and transformation. These images first appeared in the collaborative exhibition The Pink Sun, presented by Saatchi Yates, and were later translated into garments through prints, embroidery, and richly textured knitwear.

The collection balances structured simplicity with artistic flair. Striped cotton shirts, shirt dresses, skirts, and intimate basics feature hand-drawn graphics like wolves, tears, and flowers—icons layered with emotional and mythological meaning. Intarsia knits and brushed cotton pieces evoke the texture of paint on canvas, while hybrid accessories reshape traditional silhouettes into utilitarian forms.
