Y-3, the longstanding collaboration between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto, unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 collection at Paris Fashion Week with an experimental live performance at the Palais Brongniart.
The presentation blurred boundaries between sport, fashion, and performance art—underscoring Y-3’s core philosophy of transformation through contrast. Staged in four acts and choreographed by Kianí del Valle and her KDV Performance Group, the immersive show emphasised physical expression over words, exploring themes of duality, individuality and collective identity through movement.
The SS26 collection reinterprets adidas’ early-’90s Equipment line, stripping sport down to its essentials. Athletic silhouettes are elevated with raw edges, crinkled and summer viscose fabrics and unique dip-dye finishes—each piece distinct. Signature Three Stripes details are deconstructed and reimagined, continuing Y-3’s tradition of innovation and disruption.
Footwear highlights include a raw-cut version of the RC6 speed runner, a ballet-inspired Stan Smith, and The Field, a reworked archival football cleat. The presentation closed with the debut of the 5 for 5 capsule, honouring five adidas athletes linked by the number five—Zinedine Zidane, Jude Bellingham, Garrett Wilson, Anthony Edwards—and Yohji Yamamoto himself.
