Grace Wales Bonner has unveiled the latest chapter of her adidas Originals partnership, spotlighting basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and his pioneering adidas Jabbar silhouette.
The reworked WB Jabbar arrives with a suede build, crocodile-embossed technicolor stripes and gold foil “sky hook” detailing, paired with a capsule of retro-inspired apparel. The collection nods to Abdul-Jabbar’s career with a yellow-and-green jersey, a crisp white track jacket trimmed with stripes, and tube socks in colours referencing his time with the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers.
Captured by photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch and fronted by model Jecardi Sykes, the campaign merges archival footage with new imagery to evoke Abdul-Jabbar’s sporting and cultural influence.
