Barbour has teamed up with Feng Chen Wang on a Lunar New Year collaboration that reframes the British heritage brand through myth, symbolism and personal storytelling.
The capsule draws on ancient folklore and Feng’s emotive design approach, bridging Barbour’s countryside legacy with Eastern spiritual references through a tightly edited palette associated with luck and renewal. At the heart of the collection is a reworked Bedale jacket inspired by the Long Ma, or Dragon-Horse, a mythical figure from the Chinese text Shan Hai Jing. Representing strength, wisdom and movement, the motif reflects ideas of endurance and modern global identity.
For Feng Chen Wang, the partnership also carries personal weight, tracing back to her student years in London, where Barbour’s waxed jackets became a lasting symbol of place, culture and self-expression.
Speaking on the collection, the designer stated: “The design merges the mystique of the British countryside with the richness of Eastern mythology, embodying the spirit of ‘Long Ma (Dragon-Horse)’ for the New Year: brave & free.”
