corto.alto taps Mick Jenkins for new single “WHODIS”

corto.alto, the project of multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer Liam Shortall, has released his first new music of 2026 with “WHODIS”, a new collaboration featuring Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins.

The track follows a run of recent singles including “APRIL” with anaiis, “VANDAL” with Moses Yoofee, and “DON’T LISTEN”, continuing corto.alto’s shift into bolder, genre-blurring territory. Built around a hard-swinging hip-hop beat with clear nods to J Dilla-era production, “WHODIS” gives Jenkins space to deliver a sharp, laid-back verse.

Speaking on the release, Shortall explained “That’s why I reached out to someone like Mick Jenkins, who I’ve listened to forever.. I’m entering a different world with this music.”

Shortall and the corto.alto live band will continue touring through 2026, with a US run currently underway and further headline dates planned across Europe, the US and Canada, alongside festival slots including We Out Here, WOMAD and Montreal Jazz Fest.
