Kiko Kostadinov and ASICS have unveiled the third and final instalment of Ryan Trecartin’s “Buckle Yup” film trilogy, marking the global launch of the ILARGI FF II.
Titled “Buckle Yup: Voice-Undered Romantic”, the short film was shot in Okinawa, Japan, with a cast of local actors and concludes a series of experimental films released throughout 2026 to accompany each new Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS tabi-inspired runner. Given full creative control, Trecartin reimagines the traditional commercial format through his distinctive visual language.
The release continues the ongoing creative partnership between Trecartin and Kiko Kostadinov, following previous collaborations at the brand’s flagship spaces in Tokyo, Los Angeles and London. A feature-length compilation of the trilogy is set to arrive later this year.
The film coincides with the worldwide release of the Kiko Kostadinov x ASICS ILARGI FF II, a lightweight tabi runner first unveiled during the brand’s Spring/Summer 2026 menswear show, featuring a sculptural silhouette and gradient finish.
