UK duo Overmono have released their second album, Pure Devotion, via XL Recordings.
The album follows a reworked live show the duo debuted in 2024, which grew into a Glastonbury West Holts headline set, a sold-out Alexandra Palace show and a curated stage at Manchester’s Warehouse Project. Much of Pure Devotion was written during retreats to Spain and Iceland using just two synths and an effects unit. The 11-track record features vintage 1970s and ’80s synths, an old train announcement speaker, and a crash cymbal baked in an oven, alongside vocals from poet John Joseph Holt, collaborator Kindora and Paul Institute’s Ruthven.
To mark the release, the pair will play a sold-out headline show at Old Royal Naval College in London, their biggest London date yet, and will visit record stores in London, Bristol, Nottingham and Liverpool this week, ahead of their Pure Devotion world tour, which runs from September through a closing show at L’Olympia in Paris.
