adidas Originals and Japanese retailer FREAK’S STORE have teamed up to release a loafer version the Handball Spezial, reworking the 1979 terrace shoe into a laceless slip-on.
The design keeps the structure of the original Handball Spezial but drops the lacing entirely for a regular-fit slip-on shape. The upper is made from suede with soft leather stripes, set in a Silver Metallic, Off White and Grey One colourway, with a synthetic collar lining and rubber outsole. Gold Spezial branding appears on the tongue and side of the shoe.
The release follows a wider trend of hybrid “snoafer” designs blending sneaker and loafer construction, including adidas’ own Samba Mule.
The adidas Originals x FREAK’S STORE Spezial Loafer is available to purchase exclusively in Japan on the adidas website.
