Following from their first collaboration on “Adrenaline” for Amelie’s Exhale Records compilation late last year, Belgium’s techno luminary and French dynamo AIROD will release a four-track “Raver’s Heart” EP alongside Amelie on her imprint Lenske Records. Perhaps one of the finest incarnations of what the French techno scene can bring to the table, AIROD first broke through on the international stage with his debut 12″ solo Molekül, leading him to share the bill at REX Club with Amelie Lens and prompting a strong relationship between the two. The last collaboration the pair shared held top spot in the Beatport charts for a number of weeks, showcasing just how popular the duo’s productions are as two of the most sought after techno producers in the world right now.
Kickstarting the record in fashion is “Join Us”, a 303 laced with dense industrial distortions, powerful kick drums and stabbing synthesiser keys, before smartly rolling into the title track “Raver’s Heart” which provides hurried percussion, effective vocals and neat underlying bass for classy A-side all round.
On the flip side, “Escape” offers a series of rumbling synths and belting kick drums that build a huge amount of energy before snapping hi-hats enter the frame with gentle celestial keys providing a perfect melody. The closing track “Space Program” serves up a broody cut that employs an omnipresent kick drum to drive through the interstellar soundscape.
“Raver’s Heart” EP is dropping on Lenske Records on May 28th (Digital) and June 18th (Vinyl).
