Parris announces his forthcoming EP ‘Passionfruit’, due March 22nd 2024

London-based DJ and producer Parris has announced his forthcoming EP Passionfruit, set to release on 22nd March 2024 via his own label ‘can you feel the sun’.

The new project follows his stand-out 2021 album, Soaked In Indigo Moonlight, and continues Parris’ affinity for polyrhythms and bouncing synths whilst diving deeper into his love for clubbing and UK soundsystems.

Taking to Instagram, Parris states: “My first solo record in 2 years since my last one on Peach Discs. After finishing the album in 2021 it took me quite a while to find my groove again in writing music, between life getting busier and swapping DAW it slowed down the process a lot but last year I had more time and it finally allowed me to get some ideas over the line.”

“Passionfruit EP is the first thing to come out of that time spent chipping away, a 4 Track EP which I hope feels well rounded and can soundtrack lots of different moments of the night (whether it’s the warm up, the peak or the afters). The first track up on BC and streaming services is ‘why can’t rabbits wear cowboy boots’. A track dedicated to a big reece bassline, sampling simlish from whatsapp voice notes and most importantly asking the most important questions in life which we ask each other in the very early (or late) hours.”

As part of the announcement, Parris has dropped the first single from the project titled, “why can’t rabbits wear cowboy boots”.
