Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Rosalía has just been named as Dior’s new global ambassador, kicking things off with a debut campaign with the Lady Dior bag.
The announcement came soon after the multi-faceted artist wore a classy black strapless column skirt-set by Dior, that took over 1800 hours to make, to this year’s Met Gala.
To celebrate the news, Rosalía has been lensed by Collier Schorr, pictured through a series of portraits that explore “the profound intensity of black and white.” Captured in an intimate setting, the artist is photographed with nothing but a microphone and a piano — alongside her signature Lady Dior.
Dior womenswear creative director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, spoke about Rosalía’s global ambassadorship: “I immediately fell in love with Rosalía’s music. I then looked deeper into her work and was truly struck by her dedication as both a musician and producer. I was especially fascinated by how this young artist was able to reinterpret and reactivate the sounds and clothing associated with flamenco, transposing them to a more modern and contemporary framework.”
“When we finally met, I thought that she would make a perfect Dior ambassador because of how she represents a modern form of womanhood. Rosalía is a young creator who uses her voice to express herself, her strength and her creativity, thereby developing a new language.”
