Mr. Mitch details first new album in three years, ‘The Lost Boy’

Gobstopper Records and Boxed pioneer Mr. Mitch, aka Miles Mitchell, has announced his first record in three years following a stream of EPs under the club focussed alter ego DJ Cuddles.

The new record, titled The Lost Boy, will be releasing November 22nd via Mitchell’s very own imprint Gobstopper Records. Alongside the album announce, Mitchell has released new single “Wow for Real”, an immaculately produced introspective instrumental ambient piece which sets the tone for his highly-anticipated fourth project.

Speaking on the upcoming album, Mitchell stated: “Mr. Mitch albums have always been an honest reflection of my personal life. The Lost Boy is no different to that, owing largely to a turbulent few years in professional and music life. A loss of a life-enhancing day job coupled with a major slow down in demand for live shows caused me to question my identity; who am I without these roles that I have used to define myself?”

“My last album ‘Lazy’ was my most successful yet in terms of sales and streams” continues Mr. Mitch, “also receiving support from DJ’s through to large names like Thom Yorke and Cillian Murphy. Yet I was not in the headspace to release music as Mr. Mitch, I created DJ Cuddles as a fun and functional alternative to the honesty of Mr. Mitch. Two events happened this year that finally inspired me to tap back in to Mr. Mitch helped me to understand the music I had been making.”

Founding the legendary London club night Boxed and its complimentary label Gobstopper, Mitchell can lay claim to having architected the space for Grime 2.0 in the 2010s and all its various permutations and repercussions. At the same time, he has pursued soulful minimalistic electronic pop on Mike Paradinas Planet Mu with 2014’s Parallel Memories, 2017’s Devout and 2021’s Lazy on Gobstopper.
