Tyler, the Creator has reunited with Converse for a new capsule collection titled “1908,” a nod to the brand’s founding year.
The new collaborative drop reimagines two vintage silhouettes from the Converse archive, blending retro design with Tyler, the Creator’s playful, modern aesthetic. Launching June 20, the collection includes the Naut-1, a 1971 lifestyle shoe revamped with boat shoe elements and a preppy finish, and the Coach Jogger, a streamlined update of a 1976 Olympic track sneaker, drawing influence from classic ’70s and ’80s runners.
Tyler, The Creator’s collaboration with Converse has been a dynamic and influential partnership, blending his distinctive aesthetic with the brand’s classic designs. Kickstarting in 2017, the collaboration introduced the “GOLF le FLEUR*” line, featuring the Converse One Star silhouette reimagined with Tyler’s signature flower logo. Over the years, the collaboration has expanded, introducing new models like the Gianno, reflecting Tyler’s willingness to push boundaries and experiment with unconventional designs, further solidifying his influence in both the music and fashion industries.
The Naut-1 and Coach Jogger will be available online in a limited release on 20th June. The two silhouettes will also be available for purchase in Converse’s 1908 pop-up in Los Angeles from 12th June.
