South London saxophonist and producer Venna has released his latest single, “Twisting”—featuring American R&B artist Leon Thomas—taken from his forthcoming debut album MALIK.

Inspired by Venna’s time in Brazil, “Twisting” delivers a euphoric, layered sound that weaves together soulful vocals and complex arrangements. In addition to vocals from both Venna and Thomas, the track features contributions from Alex Bourt (percussion), Yussef Dayes (production, drums) and Marco Bernardis (tenor sax, bass, guitar), alongside Venna’s own work on alto sax, vocals and production.

The single follows a strong run of releases, including “Day x2” featuring MIKE and Bernardis, and “My Way,” which marked Venna’s debut as a lead vocalist. Each track builds on his fluid, genre-free approach, setting the tone for MALIK—a deeply personal and immersive body of work.

Set for release later this year, MALIK features a wide-ranging lineup of collaborators including Jorja Smith, Smino, MIKE, CARI, Leon Thomas and a roster of acclaimed musicians such as Rocco Palladino, Elijah Fox and AoD. Described as both introspective and transportive, the album invites listeners to lose themselves in its soundscape—and perhaps rediscover something in the process.
