UK rising star Maya Randle returns with her latest single “let you in”, via Pack Records.
Following her Redemption pt.1 EP and recent single “the system”, the Birmingham-based producer delivers a sharp, forward-thinking drum & bass track. Anchored by punchy basslines, skittering hi-hats and atmospheric, pitch-shifted vocals, “let you in” showcases Randle’s signature production prowess and reinforces her reputation as one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative new artists, continuing to push the boundaries of contemporary DnB.
Speaking on the single, Randle explained: “This track is a refreshed version of one of the first dnb tracks I ever made. It’s very atmospheric, has an addictive backing vocal and has jungle elements seeded through the drums, I feel like it’s very different from your conventional drum and bass song. It is about trust and putting it into the wrong person or people. I feel like this song and some others on the EP sound quite dark, a bit different from my usual style but I’ve been told before that my music sounds very lonely, and I feel like this still carries that. These songs feel very powerful to me and I feel like I was making this music to escape my mind at the time. I find making music is the best form of escapism for me.”
