Montell Fish’s experimental alter-ego dj gummy bear returns with new mixtape, The Spirit Still Remains (Purgatory).
The project showcases Montell’s dj gummy bear persona as a space for boundless creativity and experimentation. With Purgatory, he brings these sonic explorations to the forefront, weaving together electronic, house, and ambient textures through a character unbound by the expectations surrounding his Montell Fish moniker.
The mixtape also features the standout single “Ostentatious”, a shimmering collaboration with British artist John Glacier, combining Fish’s ethereal vocals and Glacier’s laid-back verses over dreamy, club-ready production.
To mark the release, Montell will host a special hybrid live/DJ performance with surprise guests at an undisclosed Los Angeles location, streamed live on his YouTube and Instagram channels.
