Cambridge Audio Releases “L/R Series” High-Performance Loudspeakers

Cambridge Audio has unveiled its new L/R Active Speaker Series at CES 2026, marking the brand’s most decisive move yet into the premium wireless speaker market.

The L/R Series consists of three models—L/R S, L/R M, and L/R X—engineered and tuned in London and positioned to compete directly with design-led active systems such as KEF’s LS range. The lineup targets listeners seeking high-performance sound in living spaces rather than traditional hi-fi setups.

At the top end, the L/R X delivers 800W of total power through a 2.5-way design, pairing Cambridge Audio’s new Torus tweeter with dual woofers and force-canceling passive radiators. It supports StreamMagic Gen 4 Wi-Fi streaming, HDMI eARC, WiSA HT wireless connectivity, and includes a built-in MM phono stage. The mid-sized L/R M offers a more compact 300W system with the same streaming and connectivity features, while the L/R S is a Bluetooth-focused model designed for desks and smaller rooms, delivering 100W with placement optimisation controls.

All three speakers are available in six finishes, Blue, Green, Orange, Black, White and Real Walnut veneer, and feature the brand’s signature floating base. The L/R X and L/R M also include subtle adjustable underlighting.
