What Went Down: Patrón Tequila x Mike Skinner At The ICA

Patrón Tequila and Mike Skinner hosted Re-Mastered: Live at London’s ICA, the latest event in Patrón’s Re-Mastered series celebrating craft and creativity.

The one-night event brought together an intimate audience including Pixie Geldof, Saffron Hocking, Rafferty Law, John Glacier and Lil Silva. It opened with a panel discussion featuring Skinner, longtime collaborator Murkage Dave and cultural critic Ellen E. Jones, exploring Skinner’s creative process and career, before Skinner played an exclusive DJ set. Guests were served a bespoke cocktail, Mike’s Margarita, alongside Patrón’s Paloma and Silver Margarita.

Speaking on the partnership, Mike Skinner explained: “Recently, with my songs, I’ve been posting videos capturing a lot of the process , the part people don’t normally see because they usually just hear the finished version. A huge part of being creative is making decision after decision, and I’ve found myself wanting to show more of that side of it rather than just the end result.

That was the connection with PATRÓN and Re-Mastered Live. There’s a shared fascination with the journey of making something -the details, the decisions, what you change, what you leave alone and how you eventually get to the finished thing. Given that’s where my head is at with my own work at the moment.”

The event followed Re-Mastered: Taste earlier this year, part of Patrón’s ongoing series spotlighting figures who take a considered, craft-led approach to their work, mirroring the brand’s own production process at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico.
