Miso Extra has returned with “Right Here”, her first new release of the year and the follow-up to her acclaimed debut album Earcandy.
The Japanese-British artist leans into sharp, left-field pop, combining glitchy production with a bilingual hook delivered in English and Japanese. Produced by harrry and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Ricky Damian, the track was written in Paris and arrives alongside an official video directed by Victor Ivanov, filmed in Tokyo after Miso Extra’s first live performances in Japan last year.
Speaking on the release, Miso Extra explained: “This song is a reminder to approach life with a ‘glass half full’ mindset. I drew significant inspiration from Wim Wenders’ film Perfect Days while writing it, which later shaped the concept for the music video.”
