Arlo Parks surfaces with new single “Heaven” inspired by underground club culture

Arlo Parks has released a new single, “Heaven”, the second track to be taken from her forthcoming album Ambiguous Desire, due 3rd April via Transgressive Records.

Built around a driving techno bassline, the track draws inspiration from underground club culture, specifically an early-morning DJ set by Kelly Lee Owens at a Los Angeles rave. Leaning into electronic rhythms and club-focused drum patterns, “Heaven” explores themes of escapism and the desire for the night to last, positioning the track as a bold departure from Parks’ previous sound.

Speaking on the release, Parks explained: “Heaven is about euphoria, community and staying present. Being in a room full of strangers sweating, connecting, losing and finding themselves is a kind of magic that’s beyond language. This song was my attempt at capturing that feeling.”
