BIRKENSTOCK x Song for the Mute Unite For Characterful Collection

BIRKENSTOCK has teamed up with Australian label Song for the Mute on a collaborative collection that reframes the German footwear brand’s utilitarian heritage through a more tactile lens.

Built around four fictional archetypes, The Artist, The Rebel, The Gardener and The Collector, the capsule pairs clothing and footwear as complete uniforms, designed to feel worn-in, personal and shaped by daily ritual. Each look is anchored by a reworked BIRKENSTOCK silhouette and marked with a new co-branded metal rivet, a rare design update for the brand.

The Artist features distressed denim overalls matched with a paint-splattered suede London shoe. The Rebel pairs a sharp cotton drill jumpsuit with the Paris silhouette in black pony hair. The Gardener centres on a washed drill crochet-flower jumpsuit styled with a tan Super Birki 2.0, finished with grass-printed insoles. The Collector completes the set with a tailored felt jumpsuit and a polished black leather Amsterdam.

Shot by Fredrick Horn and creatively directed by Stephen Mann, the campaign places each character in real-world settings, studios, gardens and interiors, emphasising the collection’s focus on lived experience over styling.
