Stockholm-based alt-pop artist DJ Suzy has announced her debut album, Kira Krash, arriving 23rd October via her own Kira Krash imprint, and shares new single “sw33t”.
Crafted around bubbling synths, G-funk basslines, breakbeats and alt-pop and R&B influences, Kira Krash is set to take listeners into the artist’s surreal dollhouse world, exploring themes of identity and emotional confrontation.
The new album follows recent singles “why did i say i loved you?” and “speedboat”, while latest preview “sw33t” finds DJ Suzy leaning into a brighter side of her sound, pairing sparkling breakbeat production with bubbling synths and her distinctive vocals. Drawing on the nostalgic energy of early internet-era alt-pop, “sw33t” offers a glimpse into the album’s playful yet emotionally charged world.
Speaking on the single, DJ Suzy explained: “it captures the thrill of falling in love while trying to deny just how deep the feelings go, comparing love to a guilty addiction – sweet, irresistible, and impossible to quit”.
DJ Suzy will also return to the UK and Europe for a run of live dates this year, including a London showcase with Scenic Route, before appearing at Pitchfork Music Festival in Paris this November.
