Los Angeles band untitled (halo) have released their highly-anticipated, self-titled debut album via Dirty Hit.
The record includes previously shared singles “sex”, “easy rider” and “aimee lou wood (freestyle)”, alongside “how to make your love (stay)”, which arrives with a music video directed by band members Ariana Mamnoon and Jack Dione, following two young friends navigating loss and love. To mark the release, the band will play two headline shows this month, in New York City (sold out) and Los Angeles.
Written over a year at their Glassell Park studio, the album is steeped in what the band call “California Melancholia”, the subdued emotional current beneath a place whose vastness promises growth while fostering emotional stasis. It explores how memories are edited and personal mythology is built, written while the members, Mamnoon, Dione, Jay Are and Nicholas Noneman, were navigating heartbreak and existential reckonings.
