UFO95

French artist and electronic producer UFO95 constantly ventures through different worlds to discover new inspiration, ranging all the way from psychedelic rock to the 90s techno scene. An extremely versatile producer, Killian regularly draws upon jungle and experimental sounds which are heard within his decidedly unique and addictive productions.

Whilst living above his parents nightclub, Killian fully immersed himself in music from a young age until moving towards sound engineering in his late teens. Self-taught and passionate, he began playing under numerous other aliases and first performed live with RGS Collective. Recently in 2020, Killian kickstarted his UFO95 moniker and released his very first LP “Popularity is overrated” on Mama Told Ya label, a collaborative headed by Anetha seeking to push artists out of their comfort zones and reach new heights of experimentation. Described as a “kaleidoscopic debut release”, the eight-track album reaches into the depths of imagination and showcases some beautifully eclectic sounds. Big things to come for the emerging talent.

Hey UFO95!

How are you?
Actually I’m pretty good!

What have you been getting up to recently?
Focussing on music. I try to produce music everyday from 9am to 6pm. I’m also working on my live, so I can be ready when everything will start again.

What’s the first thing you’ll do post lockdown?
Going to a nice restaurant in Paris with my girlfriend then to a nice big rave party.

Have you any upcoming releases that you can share?
Yes !! I have a track included in the huge VA “L’eau repose les feux agressifs” coming on Anetha’s Mama Told Ya label. Also I have a solo EP coming very soon on Exos’ label Planet X.

Who’s the greatest DJ of all time?!
I can’t choose one, but I really love what Anetha, Héctor Oaks and Nina Kraviz are doing.

If you weren’t a DJ, what would you be?
Certainly working in the music industry, maybe as an Audio Engineer!

Mood Wax – What do you listen to?

When I’m happy I listen to:
Van der Wiese – Methane Rain. This track takes me back to free parties in the woods.

When I’m sad:
Aphex Twin – Heliosphan. I love the emotion in every Aphex track.

When I’m relaxing:
Aphex Twin – Selected Ambient Works 85-92. This album is perfect for that.

When I’m in the car:
Reptant – The Outcast. Takes you immediately in a racing video game.

When I’m exercising:
AADJ – Zen Rabbit. I love the energy of this track!

When I’m cooking:
I like to listen to an old jazz playlist when I’m cooking and pretending to be a chef!

When I’m pre-drinking:
X-Coast – Narcotic Influence. I love X-Coast music, it’s perfect to get in the mood.

When I’m at an afters:
Crystal Energy – Liquid Child. For afters, nothing better than a good kick!!!!

Thanks UFO95!
