Copenhagen-based peachlyfe is an artist of playful provocation, renowned across the electronic circuit for their blends of psychoactive techno swampy pay-trance and alien acid. For their latest release, peachlyfe lands on Nene H’s esteemed label UMAY with a debut full-length album titled Permission to Roam.
Continuing their disruptive exploration of gender, peachlyfe’s forthcoming project’s premise originates in a sci-fi tale co-authored by the artist and Cru Encarnação, soundtracking a story of love, disguise, sex and fantasy. It follows Jack, a cis man, and Jane, a trans woman, on their existential odyssey through five different realms, where they navigate shifting perspectives on the world while losing their sensory understanding of it.
Containing eight tracks of fast-paced, club-orientated techno and trance, interwoven with more experimental-leaning offerings, “Go Up” proves to be a definite highlight, weighing in at over 7 minutes of explosive electronic bliss lead by heavy kick drums and splattering synth work.
The album will be accompanied by a limited-edition run of the Permission to Roam story as a printed book, illustrated by Istanbul-based artist Cocln. It will also come as the seventh release on Nene H’s imprint, UMAY, a non-profit label endeavour, sharing the revenue with its artists.
