Mona Thomas’ brand HUNI continues to garner a serious amount of attention, this week announcing a huge collaboration with adidas (Berlin).
Initially teased at the end of last week via Mona’s personal page, which boasts over 142K followers, the new collaboration was later confirmed by adidas Berlin, who announced the arrival of the modified Beckenbauer training jacket, created by Mona herself. The Frankfurt-based designer reimagined the iconic piece with her signature style in this one-of-a-kind custom edition, applying pink motifs on the back and front of the jacket, which comes in a long and short sleeved option. Boasting a cropped fit, which narrows towards the bottom, it also features a high white collar and cuffs on the long sleeve.
According to Mona’s Instagram stories, adidas approached her 5 months ago to reimagine the jacket for the Euro cup, however it wasn’t penned as a commercial project so the pieces won’t be for sale to the general public. Instead, the drop will be a custom friends and family release, but there will be an exclusive giveaway via Mona’s Instagram in the coming days.
