On Monday, Stüssy founder, Shawn Stussy, hinted via Instagram that he’s coming out of retirement.
Posting a photo of himself and teasing a few new project, Shawn Stussy also posted a quote stating, “a young horse is fast, but the old horse know what’s going on… the young horse may win the race, but the old horse stay out so long,” ant the fact it’s a “big round number year” for him and that he’s “engaged with a couple projects out and about.”
Later that day, Stussy edited the caption, leaving the original quote but adding context that it’s not his birthday as many had been sending their best wishes, as well as deleting the section about his new projects.
Stussy resigned from his namesake brand in 1996, selling his shares to friend and business partner Frank Sinatra Jr, before returning in the 2010’s to launch the now defunct brand, S/Double.
