Charli XCX has set the internet ablaze once again, announcing her first-ever feature film, The Moment, due for release in 2026.
The pop star revealed the project on Instagram, describing it as “based on an original idea by Charli XCX,” alongside a high-energy teaser confirming an all-star cast.
Produced in partnership with A24, The Moment follows “a rising pop star navigating fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.” Charli will both produce and star in the film, marking the debut project from her newly launched Studio365 production company.
The film is directed by Aiden Zamiri, a Glasgow-born filmmaker and longtime Charli collaborator behind her “360” and “Guess” music videos, with a screenplay co-written by Zamiri and journalist Bertie Brandes. The soundtrack will be composed by A.G. Cook, Charli’s longtime collaborator and PC Music visionary, promising the same hyper-glossed energy that defined her Brat era.
The cast features Alexander Skarsgård, Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Shygirl and, in a surprise move, Kylie Jenner, marking her acting debut. While Jenner’s involvement sparked debate among fans, many have speculated that the casting choices reflect the film’s meta-commentary on fame, performance and authenticity.
