Mark William Lewis inaugurates the newly reopened Cherry Lane Theatre’s live video series “Sound Check at Cherry Lane Theatre”, marking the first performance in the venue’s new collaboration with A24 Music.
Directed by Danica Kleinknecht, the session features intimate renditions of “Ugly”, “Recent Future”, “Brain”, and “Ecstatic Heads”, all filmed on the historic Cherry Lane stage.
The performance follows the release of Lewis’ self-titled debut — the first artist album on A24 Music — and is now streaming on A24’s YouTube channel. The series will continue with a set from Tame Impala, with additional acts to follow.
A rising figure in London’s experimental music scene, Lewis has built a reputation for immersive live shows that have sold out venues from New York’s Elsewhere to London’s ICA. Currently touring Europe, he will head to North America this November.
