Puma Blue has released “Croak Dream”, the title track from his forthcoming album of the same name.
The new single sees the London-born artist, real name Jacob Allen, dive deeper into his genre-blending instincts, weaving trip-hop, dub and jagged electronic textures into a hypnotic, atmospheric soundscape. Its accompanying video expands the track’s surreal mood, transporting viewers into a lo-fi digital universe inspired by early PlayStation aesthetics and the angular, dreamlike feel of titles such as Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid and Tomb Raider.
On the single, Puma Blue explained: “A Croak Dream is a prophetic dream where you see a vision of how you die. Half the songs on this record allude to how you might decide to live, act, if you somehow knew your awaiting fate. Being daring, romantic… saying what you really mean.”
Croak Dream the album is set for release on 6th February, with Puma Blue supporting the project on a UK tour next spring, including a headline date at London’s Village Underground on May 28.
